CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING PURPOSE OF REPORT
1 Five applications for a Discretionary Grant have been received from: o Raumati Supremes Leisure Marching Team o Tarapunga Sea Scouts o Kapiti Kids Motivation Trust o Combined Lions Clubs of Kapiti o Raumati South Residents’ Association These applications comply with the Discretionary Grants criteria and need to be considered by the Paraparaumu-Raumati Community Board.
SIGNIFICANCE OF DECISION
2 The recommendations in this report do not trigger the Council’s significance policy.
BACKGROUND
3 An amount of $17,500 was provided in the 2009/10 budget for the Community Grants Fund. This is the first allocation of grants for the 2009/10 year.
CONSIDERATIONS Issues
4 5 6 Grants are allocated in accordance with established criteria (copy attached). Five applications have been received for funding from the Community Grants Fund. The applicants have been advised of the criteria and meeting date either by telephone or by letter.

DP-09-637 Applications from the Community Grant Fund Raumati Supremes Leisure Marching Team 7 The Raumati Supremes Leisure Marching Team has applied for a grant of $500 to assist with the costs of hiring the Mazengarb Hall for their marching practice. o This application can be considered under Eligible Purposes 5. Remission of Hall Rental. Tarapunga Sea Scouts 8 Mr Van der Walt has applied for a grant of $500 on behalf of five Tarapunga Sea Scouts to assist with the costs of them attending the 11th New Zealand Scout Venture to be held at Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre in January 2010. o This application can be considered under Eligible Purposes 2. Special Project or Activity. Kapiti Kids Motivation Trust 9 Mr R Booth has applied for a grant of $500 on behalf of Kapiti Kids Motivation Trust to assist with the costs of paying fees for the visitors and their accompanying facilitators in the schools, travel expenses, printing and administration expenses. o This application can be considered under Eligible Purposes 2. Special Project or Activity. Combined Lions Clubs of Kapiti 10 Combined Lions Clubs of Kapiti has applied for a grant of $500 to assist with the costs of undertaking a Kapiti wide collection for the Foodbank. o This application can be considered under Eligible Purposes 2. Special Project or Activity. Raumati South Residents’ Association 11 The Raumati South Residents’ Association has applied for a grant of $490 to assist with the costs of hall hire and producing a newsletter for Raumati South Residents. o This application can be considered under Eligible Purposes 5 & 2. Remission of Hall Rental / Special Project or Activity.
