	 With	 Chevon	 Walker’s	 29-yard	 reception	 from	 Bodie	 Reeder	 in	
the first quarter EIU has now scored a touchdown in 16 straight games
dating	back	to	the	loss	at	Purdue	last	year.		EIU’s	streak	of	consecutive	
games	 without	 being	 shutout	 was	 also	 extended	 to	 60	 games	 as	 the	
last	time	EIU’s	offense	was	held	scoreless	was	October	11,	2003	-	a	
41-0	loss	versus	Eastern	Kentucky.		EIU	longest	streak	of	consecutive	
games	 without	 being	 shutout	 was	 197	 from	 1977-1996	 which	 ranks	
fourth	all-time	among	FCS	schools.



                 Cradle	of	NFL	Coaches	Still	Rockin’                                         PONIUS WINS WEEklY OVC HONOR
 With	the	retirement	of	Washington	Redskins	head	coach	Joe	Gibbs,	                    Eastern	 Illinois	 senior	 kick	 returner	 Quinten	 Ponius	 was	 named	
 Eastern	 Illinois	 and	 USC	 stand	 out	 as	 the	 lone	 schools	 that	 can	          the	 Ohio	 Valley	 Conference	 Special	 Teams	 Player	 of	 the	 Week	
 claim	the	title	-	NFL	Cradle	of	Coaches.		The	Panthers	have	three	                   following	 his	 performance	 against	 UT	 Martin.	 	 Ponius	 returned	
 former	alumni	now	working	the	sidelines	for	NFL	teams.		In	2006,	                    two	kicks	for	an	average	of	41	yards	with	both	returns	setting	up	
 Sean Payton was named the NFL Coach of the Year during his first                     Eastern	Illinois	scores.		He	had	one	return	of	44	yards	and	another	
 season	while	Denver	Broncos	head	coach	Mike	Shanahan	has	two	                        of	38.		On	the	season	Ponius	ranks	9th	in	the	OVC	in	kick	return	
                                                                                      average	at	22.1	yards	per	game,	slightly	above	the	team	average	of	
 Super	Bowl	titles	to	his	credit.

Eastern	Illinois	scored	18	unanswered	second	half	points	as	                  Jacksonville	 State	 quarterback	 Ryan	 Perrilloux	 rushed	 for	             RECAP
the	 Panthers	 rallied	 for	 a	 25-21	 come-from-behind	 win	 to	             two	 second	 quarter	 touchdowns	 and	 passed	 for	 another	 as	
end	a	six	year	draught	against	Illinois	State.		EIU	started	the	              the	 Gamecocks	 raced	 out	 to	 a	 21-0	 halftime	 lead	 en	 route	          Dante Harrold intercepted a Bodie Reeder pass with just
rally	converting	three	Illinois	State	turnovers	into	points	late	             to	a	23-10	win	over	Eastern	Illinois.		The	Panthers	marched	                 under	 three	 minutes	 remaining	 to	 help	 UT	 Martin	 hold	 on	
in	the	game.		James	Larson	and	Jack	Kosinski	each	had	big	                    down the field on their first possession only to lose the ball               for	a	29-26	win	over	Eastern	Illinois.		EIU	had	built	a	16-
interceptions	 while	 D’Angelo	 McCray	 recovered	 a	 fumble	                 inside	the	JSU	10	yard	line	on	a	fumble.		Perrilloux	would	                  7	 halftime	 lead	 with	 Reeder	 hitting	 Chevon	 Walker	 and	
that	led	to	EIU’s	go	ahead	score.		On	the	go	ahead	touchdown	                 guide	JSU	on	touchdown	drives	of	99,	90	and	88	yards	in	                     Lorence	Ricks	with	touchdown	strikes.		Skyhawks	running	
drive	Bodie	Reeder	hit	a	streaking	Chip	Keys	for	25	yards	to	                 the first half finishing with 281 yards passing and 19 yards                 back	 Brandyn	 Young	 opened	 the	 second	 half	 with	 a	 94	
place	the	ball	at	the	4	yard	line.		Keys	scored	from	4	yards	                 rushing.		Bodie	Reeder	kept	the	Panthers	in	the	contest	going	               yard	 run	 from	 scrimmage	 to	 give	 UTM	 some	 life.	 	Young	
out on the next place to give EIU the lead. Reeder finished                   19-for-32	for	206	yards	but	the	EIU	offense	failed	to	reach	                 would finish with 213 yards rushing finding the end zone
