Fr. Bill’s Corner News and Notes from Fr. Bill
Parish Festival: We send a special welcome to all the visitors and parishioners, who are celebrating
Mass with us this weekend and enjoying the festivities at our annual festival, which so greatly helps
our school. We thank you for joining us and hope your experience is a joyful one.
Parish Building Improvements: A cap has been placed on the chimney to eliminate the leak into the ceiling of Austin Arrwood
the church. Painting will be scheduled soon. Melvin Balk
In about two or three weeks, we will begin improvements to the front steps of the church. A contractor Florence Booms
will even off the steps and cover them with a non-skid coating. Leah Braun
The Facilities Committee and I are finalizing plans and estimates to upgrade the old two-story convent Ricky Bredow
across the street from the church. As I mentioned in the Financial Presentation a few weeks ago, the Chief Fi- Eleanor Brown
nancial Officer of the Saginaw Diocese said that he believes that one of our highest priorities should be to move Gail Burkhard
the office to the old convent building. His rationale is that, if I should die or have to be moved from OLLH for Margaret Bukoski
some reason, it will be very difficult to get another priest, who would be willing to live the building with the Eloise Chesney
office as it is presently. Carrie Essenmacher
To fix up the convent building to make it adequate for current needs, there is much manual labor, such as Peyton Garrett

painting and carpentry, as well as moving furniture in and out. The Knights of Columbus and others are wait-

ing for our plans to be solidified, so they can volunteer their labor. Florence Gusa
We also will be looking for financial assistance for the project. We will announce the specifics, as soon as Charles Hagedon
the details are ready. Angie Hoffman
Also, there may be some used items that we will need. For example, we would like to put a used refrigera- Edith Hurren
tor in the kitchen. So, if you have a working refrigerator that you are not using and would like to donate to the Ricky Jacobs
church project, please contact the office. Fred Jahn
We will keep you updated on our progress on this and other projects. Jim Jones
Finance Committee: We are working with the Diocesan Office to determine how best to proceed to raise Lola Kempinski
money to repair and improve our buildings. More information will be given later. In the meantime, please be Viola Klebba
generous by increasing your donations to the Property and Maintenance Fund. Jean Kranz
Questions, suggestions, complaints, or recommendations: I have had more discussions with parents about Sami Kreiner
the school. Let me know if you want to meet to discuss any issues, positive or negative. Crystal Koss
Jim Kozlow
Also, let me know if you have comments about anything else in the parish.
Dolores Kranz
Gratitude: You are a wonderful parish and I am thankful to God and to the Bishop for sending me here. Thank Evelyn Learman
