Both the MEN’S AND
WOMEN’S TENNIS programs
have generated national
attention in the past few years.
Men’s tennis became the first
male sport to capture an Atlantic
Sun title in 2001. The program
has now won two A-Sun
Championships and has
participated in two NCAA
Tournaments. In 2003, the team
was built around five
underclassmen, including three
freshmen who are now match-
tested and ready to help add to
the program’s success. With only
one senior leaving, the team
appears strong for the 2004
season. The women’s tennis team
is also enjoying unparalleled
success. Women’s tennis had a
banner year in 2003. The Lady
Owls finished the year with 19
wins and only six losses. That
record was good enough for the
best single season in the
program’s Division I history.
