Description: Creating HIV/AIDS awareness amongst youth about HIV/AIDS, and aim to change
their attitude towards people living with HIV/AIDS. To mark words AIDS day we (HEADP-
Nepal) are organizing a “Seminar on HIV/ AIDS and Present situation”. This would include a
presentation, short DVD presentation followed by an interactive lecture. The topic discussed will
comprise of introduction on HIV/AIDS, care, support and treatment for PLWHAS. We will also
discuss the role of young people with controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS and expect about 200
people to attend this event.

Description: I would like to do a brief presentation on my experiences at AIDS 2006 including
48Fest, show the 48Fest films, and possibly show the film “A Closer Walk” or have a guest
speaker with a specialty in HIV/AIDS. The event hopes to target 25-30 people and will most
likely be hosted by the AIESEC Calgary chapter at the University of Calgary and last 1-2 hours.

Description of the event: Referred to the theme of this World Aids Day, “Accountably”, we
would like to organize a Workshop where will invite young leaders from diverse youth
organizations to have the opportunity to deal with decision making, to hold the government
accountable and request more action from the government and international partners in favour of
young people. The Workshop is going to be at the Room of Youth Ministry in Kinshasa on
December 3rd from 10:30 – 1:30 PM and we expect 100 people to attend.

Description: Our project is to hold lectures in at least 10 universities and 10 schools in the two
most populated cities in Egypt; Cairo and Alexandria. This would last two months from Nov 1st
– Dec 31st. We would put up flyers, and have advertisements in every available student clubs (or
Metro station). We also aim to make a 1 minute TV commercial to be displayed on Egyptian TV
channels according to slot times available, and run interviews to youth in malls. As for the local
gathering, we plan on having one on a youth camp in Ismalia on World AIDS Day.

Description: On December 1st, there is going to be an introduction of the Millennium
Development Goals to the participants with a focus on the explanation and clarification of Goal 6
of the MDGs with emphasis on “Combating HIV/AIDS”.
On December 2nd, there is going to be a letter writing exercise and campaign against HIV/AIDS.
The participants are going to write letters of concern to the Minister of Health, the Ghana AIDS
Commission and the President of Ghana about the ideas concerning HIV/AIDS.
The gathering will be held at the Revival International School and at noon each day in Kumasi.
We hope to gather a crowd of 400 students, teachers etc.

Description of the event: The local gathering planned will take the format of a lecture session.
Participants will be drawn from every constituent of civil society groups. The intention is to train
individuals from the social & civic services to better be equipped with information, to facilitate
expansion of programs and allow environment for networking. It will be hosted by the American
University of Peace Studies and will be 3 hours long and hopes to target 60 people.

Description: “The voice of young people in the fight against HIV/Aids” – A workshop where
CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality will discuss the importance of youth participation within high-
level decision making. We expect 40 people to attend this event.
CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality is a youth organization that promotes the sexual and
reproductive rights and health (SRHR) of young people and meaningful youth participation in
this field. CHOICE advocates on a national, European and UN level for SRHR and youth
participation. Furthermore, CHOICE promotes and supports youth groups in developing
countries on these issues. The importance of youth participation in the fight against HIV/Aids is
becoming more and more evident. Not only in local projects, but also within advocacy and
decision-making at higher level. By showing a movie made by CHOICE at the review on the
United Nations General Assembly on HIV/AIDS in 2006, CHOICE will discuss examples of
youth participation and discuss the way youth participation can be implemented in The
Netherlands and in developing countries.

Description of event: I want to use a live band called BRIGADE to sensitise people on the

Description: We intend to organize a one day training workshop on Project Management for
selected organizations working on HIV and AIDS in the state. This training is necessary for good
project management, monitoring and evaluation for the 20 organizations that benefited from the

Description: The four-day gathering is targeting three communities in the western part of
Freetown. A one day Drama performance inviting approximately three hundred youth leaders in

Centers of the universities in the capital Ankara, Turkey. It will be based on an interactive
exchange of information and raising consciousness. Then, a pool will formed electronically and
