Even though you are hiring someone based on their expertise (and your lack thereof), you cannot leave the entire project up to someone else’s imagination, especially if you have a vision, whether crystal clear or somewhat muddied, of what you want your site to look like and do for you. Before you allow anyone to start on your project, you will want to have a contract in place that spells out the understanding of the parties. We have provided you with a sample of such a contract at Appendix A to help you with this, however, knowing what you’re talking about will go a long way in ensuring that you get what you really want. Samples of Website Requirements 1 Component #1: Mock Up of Theme Pages Definition of Mock Up: A mock up is the way a website design will be shown to the client (or the person who is ordering the website) to illustrate how the website will ultimately look when built. Mock ups are usually static pages, that is – they don’t work like a website would, but are merely pictures. Samples of Mock Ups: The following pictures show how different website’s main theme pages may be mocked up for the client.
