 The Action
The nature of the support is:
 Cotton in Ivory Coast
Depending on the outcome of an UNCTAD pre-feasibility study undertaken during Sept 2008-Dec 2009, follow-up
activities with national stakeholders concerned in Côte d’Ivoire will be organized for its discussion and validation.
This will be done a) in relation with the regional work with AAACP and UEMOA strategic work on cotton, and b) at
national level, as a contribution to the discussion of the guarantee fund tool in the overall national and regional
policy and economic environment of the cotton value chain. In this connection, the need for an examination of the
current debt situation of the value chain stakeholders will be reviewed.
 Arabic Gum in Mali

strategic ITC led work on Arabic Gum, and b) at national level, as a contribution to the discussion of the SCP tool
in the overall national environment of the Arabic Gum value chain. This will serve a) as an input into the regional
work with AAACP and UEMOA strategic work on cotton, and b) at national level, as a contribution to the
discussion of the guarantee fund tool in the overall policy and economic environment of the cotton value chain.
