Friendship Force International Structure
Friendship Force International (FFI) (formally changed from The Friendship Force, Inc in 2001) was
chartered as a non-profit organization in the state of Georgia, U.S.A., on 17 March, 1977. This is the
name of the entire organization, not only the headquarters or its staff. The headquarters office for FFI is
located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Board of Directors - Volunteer policy makers and salaried FFI staff are
responsible for handling the overall operational and planning tasks associated with the running of
Friendship Force International.
A worldwide group of volunteer clubs provides the organizational structure and leadership to conduct
exchanges assigned by FFI.
Staff reports to the President, George Brown, head of staff, who in turn reports to the Board of Directors.
Members of the Board of Directors represent the organization, not their country.

To Australian Club Presidents and Members.
On behalf of Bruce and myself, we would like to thank you for the wonderful support you gave for
the recommendation for Bruce receiving the first Wayne Smith Medal, awarded by FFI.
We had a wonderful meeting. Kay Price, Central District Field Rep, presented Bruce with the
beautiful medal and read letters and cards from members expressing congratulations. There was
also a lovely message from George Brown, FFI President.
Kay also presented me with a beautiful flower arrangement. Thank you so much.
The Sydney Club had Brian Hughes, and previous club presidents and foundation members in
We then enjoyed a gorgeous afternoon tea, which was a happy occasion, which Bruce enjoyed very
much. It enabled him to express some of the wonderful experiences he had with the Friendship
Force and allowed him to say how much we appreciated, and have had our lives enhanced by it all.
Bruce enjoyed every moment of participating and organising exchanges in and out.
He especially enjoyed every moment of getting to know so many members over the years.
He felt very honoured to receive the medal.
We also appreciated members of our family being invited to share with Bruce this special day.
Once more a heartfelt THANK YOU to you all.
Patricia and Bruce Murray.

with a President, executive, committees and members.
Their main interactions with FFI are direct, usually by Presidents or Exchange Directors.

The members of the Council are the Presidents and Vice-Presidents or (their nominated delegates) of all
Australian Clubs, and the District Field Representatives.
The Coordinator District Field Representatives, FFI Financial Service Representative and Webmaster also
