La Marina - Things to do by stariya

									                                       La Marina
Situated just south of the city of Alicante, off the N332 and a fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport (
but away from the flight path! )in the established urbanisation of La Marina, the villa is ideally located
for that relaxing holiday of sun, sand, sangria and anything else that starts with the letter 's'.

La Marina is a small coastal village on the Costa Blanca in Spain with a population of 3,000. The
village has a range of shops, bars, banks etc. and has a regular bus service north and south along the

However the land on the other side of the N322 has been developed into La Marina urbanisation (town)
and now boasts all of the facilities you would need for a really good holiday.

The villa is situated about a mile and a half back into the hills where the established urbanisation
provides many shops, bars, restaurants, swimming pools etc.

The unspoilt sandy beach at La Marina stretches some 17 kilometres from Santa Pola to Torrevieja.
There is a local shuttle bus service to the beach which runs in the summer school holidays, the bus stop
is 100 metres from the villa. Other bus services run from the commercial centre both north to Santa
Pola and Alicante and south to Guadamar and Torrevieja. You can also catch a bus inland to Elche.
There is a regular supply of cheap taxis which can take you anywhere at any time.

Near to the villa is a recreation and sports area with a court for ball games, bowls and a large
swimming pool. The sports area also has a bar and restaurant and has its own evening entertainment.

Also close to the villa is the “Commercial Centre” which has banks, a supermarket, a good selection of
bars and restaurants most with their own evening entertainment. There are another two “Commercial
centres” on the urbanisation, a snooker club (with another large swimming pool), and several
Cybercafes, just to add variety. The Commercial centre can also provide both bike hire and car hire.

The nearby restaurants on the urbanisation provide a wide variety of cosmopolitan food, Italian,
Indian, Chinese, German, English, Spanish cuisine as well as fast food and bar snacks.

Within easy reach is the historic town of Elche with its extensive palm gardens, whilst the
internationally renowned golf courses of La Manga, just one of the many courses in the area, the glitz
of Benidorm and the white knuckle rides of Terra Mitica are less than an hour's drive away.

There are local markets in nearby towns and villages every day of the week, with the local market held
twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Night craft markets can be found in Guadamar (summer
only) and in Torrevieja. Evening funfairs can be found in Santa Pola (summer only) and Torrevieja.

                                     Things to Do
La Marina offers a relaxing holiday close to an undeveloped beach
where the sound of the sea birds and the sounds of the waves are not
drowned out by jet skis. Water sports are available in nearby Santa
Pola, Guadamar and Torrevieja. There are a reasonable selection of
restaurants and bars within reasonable walking distance and more
further afield (details of recommended restaurants are provided in the
villa). A car is not absolutely essential for your holiday, but is
recommended in order to fully enjoy the surroundings area and to
enable you to take advantage of all of the facilities the area has to offer.
There is a bus service into Alicante, Guadamar, the nearby fishing port of Santa Pola and further afield
to Torrevieja. A local bus provides commuting to the nearby beach during the summer school holiday

These divide into leisure interests and tourist attractions.
