Nominations open 7-18 February                                                  have recently been used by the makers of
                                                                                the film Made in Dagenham and legendary
                                                                                English journalist Michael Wood.

                                                                                   The popular British film Made in Dagenham tells the
                                                                                true story of a group of female sewing machinists who in
                                                                                1968 went on strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant. The
                                                                                strike brought production to a standstill and compelled
                                                                                Parliament to introduce the 1970 Equal Pay Act.
                                                                                   Filmmakers used information and images from the
                                                                                Winning Equal Pay: The Value of Women’s Work website,
                                                                                created by the TUC Library Collections. Also screened during
                                                                                the end titles of the film are clips from the website's archive
                                                                                of filmed interviews with women involved in the strike.
