Why an Optometric Eye Examination?
Are you concerned about your eye health? If yes, the Corporate Eye Wellness Program is designed for you and your staff members. Our eyes are one of the most important assets of our senses. Therefore, we should not wait till disease strike, before seeking medical attention. Eye diseases and disorders left undetected and untreated can cause anything from discomfort to the eyes to eventual blindness. Thus it is important to have an annual eye exam to ensure that the eye is functioning perfectly, and to prevent any eye diseases that can cause irreversible damage, often without any signs and symptoms.
Full Optometric Eye Examination
The Corporate Eye Wellness Program encompasses a full Professional Optometric Eye Examination. This comprehensive eye examination takes approximately 40 minutes, comprising a thorough assessment of vision right through to an analysis of the retina. This is not an eye screening, but a full eye exam which includes the following tests: Visual Acuity This test measures the best vision of your eyes, done with or without glasses. It provides a good gauge on how well you see. Poor vision may either indicate a prescription that needs to be corrected, or even the possible existence of an eye disease. External Eye Examination This battery of tests measures the functionality of your eyes from an external standpoint, including the alignment of the eyes, color vision, near point of eyes converging, eye movement, stereo-vision and cornea curvature. Subjective Refraction This test is done to determine the best possible vision that is obtainable using ophthalmic lenses to check the power of your eye. This test checks for myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia (reading problems). Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy We use this instrument to check for possible eye diseases at the front surface of the eye. This test is extremely useful for assessment of dry eyes, eye infections and cataracts. Retina Photography By using a retina camera to take a photo of your retina, our optometrist can better explain to you what he/she is looking at when viewing the retina. This test is important to exclude eye diseases such as glaucoma, agerelated macular degeneration (ARMD), and other possible retina diseases. Tonometry This machine checks the eye pressure, by blowing a puff of air into your eye. This test is extremely important in aiding the diagnosis of glaucoma, which is a leading cause of blindness and a silent thief of sight. ORB-Scan This sophisticated machine scans the front surface of the eye, creating a map of the surface of the cornea. It is used to measure the curvature as well as the thickness of the cornea. It is extremely critical in the diagnosis and testing of glaucoma, pseudo-glaucoma, keratoconus, & LASIK suitability. Counseling Our optometrist will finish off by explaining to you the findings of the exam and providing recommendations and advice for you to take care of your eyes, and even the suitability for LASIK surgery. If there is a need for further assessment and/or medical intervention, you may be referred to an eye specialist (ophthalmologist).

We Take Care of Your Staff
The eye exam conducted by our optometrists does take a full half hour to complete. Therefore, it is important that a specific time is arranged for your staff member, so that he/she will be taken care for the entire eye exam. We can take the pleasure of assuming the responsibility of contacting your staff member for the eye exam. Alternatively, they can schedule an appointment at their convenience by dialing our appointment hotline.
