Marley Engineered Products (MEP), a division of SPX Corporation (NYSE SPW), located in Bennettsville, SC is a
leader in the marketing and manufacturing of heating and ventilation products for residential, commercial and
industrial markets. We are a solid growth oriented global manufacturing company with $100+ million in sales. We
have recently expanded our operation into China, one of the fastest growing markets in the world, to meet
customer demand in Asia. We manufacture and sell under well known name brands such as Marley, Q’Mark,
Berko, and Leading Edge. Marley currently has an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager, who will report
to the Vice President of Human Resources. This individual will oversee the recruitment, compensation, employee
relations, training, policy administration and ISO 9000 for the human resources department. Qualified applicants
will have an interest in advancing their career to the V.P. of HR role in 3 to 5 years and have the following
Oversees all aspects of the hourly employee relations function. Oversees the recruitment, placement, orientation,
training, promotion, transfer, and separation of all full-time and temporary factory associates. Administers
programs designed to establish and maintain effective employee relations through the uniform and equitable
application of company policies, procedures, and benefits, Performs audits to identify employee relations issues,
personnel training and development programs for organization. Oversees and coordinates hourly personnel exit
interviews and grievance procedures. Interfaces daily with factory supervisory personnel regarding factory
associate issues. Oversees sand monitors HR ISO 9000 compliance procedures and all computer-based HR
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Develops, implements and evaluates the organization’s policies and procedures on hourly recruitment,
testing selection, and job placement.
Plans and directs activities of staff in carrying out such functions as developing sources of qualified hourly
applicants, conducting screening interviews, administering tests, checking references and background,
evaluating applicant qualifications, and arranging for initial orientation and training of newly hired
Confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.
Formulates training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs,
company production processes, business systems or changes in products, procedures, or services.
Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self
study, lectures, demonstration, simulation exercises, role playing, and computer based training.
Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures,
multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
Facilitates and coordinates the training of assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective
techniques for training such as new employees’ orientation, on-the-job training, sales techniques, health
and safety practices, management development, and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and

causes of problems or inefficiencies in the employment function.
Makes recommendations to management for improvement of organization’s employment policies,
procedures, and practices.
Sets standards and provides guidance in all aspect of HR information system (hardware and software).
This includes overseeing Hr information system design and format for both the PC and mainframe
interfaces in conjunction with MEP’s MIS dept.
Researches analyzes, designs, and maintains desktop computer systems in support of human resources
administration and projects.
Continually monitors HR information needs and designs new or modifies existing systems to meet

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, HR/OD, or other related field or the equivalent of education and

Professional certification at SPHR level or MS/MBA a plus.
