Submitters: Gregory Sigman, Julie Buchanan, Rachel Somerville, Laura O’Neil
We have chosen to allow all Quartus group members (and only Quartus group
members) submit digital objects to our Music Collection.
During the Submission step, group members must complete the following required
metadata fields when uploading their digital object to the Quartus Music Collection
on DSpace: Song Title. In addition, fields including Alternative Title, Musician Name,
Date of Publication should be provided if known.
Accept/Reject: Julie Buchanan
At this step, the assigned group member will accept the task to either accept or
reject a digital object that has been submitted to our collection. Next the assigned
group member will review the submitted digital object to determine if it is
consistent with the scope and requirements of the collection. Upon making this
determination, she will either approve or reject the submission in question.
Accept/Reject Metadata: Rachel Somerville and Laura O’Neil
At this step, one of the assigned group members will accept the task to either accept
or reject the metadata associated with a digital object that has been submitted to
our collection. Next that group member will carefully review the metadata that has
been submitted along with the digital object to determine that it is complete and
appears accurate. She will determine if all the metadata fields that are required for
the submitter are complete. If all required metadata fields are complete, the
metadata will be accepted. If any of the required metadata fields are incomplete, the
metadata will be rejected. If the metadata is rejected, the submitter may complete
the fields and resubmit the metadata.
Edit Metadata: Gregory Sigman
At this step, the assigned group member will accept the task to edit the metadata
associated with the submitted digital object. Next, the assigned group member will
review the associated metadata and edit it as necessary. The following
administrative metadata fields will be completed in this step: Date of Entry into
Collection, Duration, Time Signature, Instrumentation, and Archivist who Created
Metadata. Additional administrative metadata fields may be used as needed,
including Date of Recording, Original Format, Current Format, State/ Region of
Origin, Submitted By, Record Company, Transmission/Migration, Audio Technician,
Bit Rate, Bit Depth, and Stereo/Mono.
