ECO-TOURISM in HONG KONG
Tourism is not just one of the world’s but also one of Hong Kong’s largest and most important industries, in
terms of revenue and employment. In recognition of the United Nation’s “International Year of Eco-tourism
2002’ & “June 5th - World Environment Day”, we are pleased to launch this Eco-tourism Conference. We believe
Eco-tourism can present the opportunity for the tourism sector to provide some new products and attraction
points for alluring more tourists to Hong Kong. This Conference offers the first-ever opportunity for all sectors to
openly discuss eco-tourism issues. By participating in this conference, you will contribute to the discussion and
development of eco-tourism in Hong Kong and important balance it should take toward environmental
management and economic development, which has been a recent hot topic as a result of the discussion in the
Legislative Council.
