Understand and Using the plot diagram
What is Plot ?

   Plot is a sequence of events
    that occurs in a short story,
    poem or novel.
Parts of Plot

   Exposition: (Basic Situation): the first
    part of the plot which presents the
    main character and their conflicts.
   Conflict: struggle or clash between
    opposing characters, forces, or
    emotions.
   Rising Action: all actions that take
    place before the climax.

   Climax: most intense moment in
    the plot.
   Falling Action: leading to the
    resolution after the climax.
   Resolution: all the problems in the
    story are solved and the story is
    brought to a close.

   Step One: Identify the story in which you will
    plot.
   Step Two: Establish your characters and
    setting.
   Step Three: Create a plot diagram, labeling
    the different parts on your paper.
   Step Four: Apply your knowledge of the
    story to the diagram.

    from Verona.
   Juliet devises a plan
    to fake her death in
    order to run away
    with Romeo.
   Romeo never receives
    her message and is
    lead to believe that
    she is dead.

   Romeo and Juliet
    take their lives in the
    name of love.
   Both families mend
    their ties and are at
    peace.
