Job Title:           Development Scientist


Reports to:          CTO                Location:   St. Leonards-on-Sea, UK


JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

                         projects on time and to the customer’s satisfaction through planning,
                         coordination, scientific input and follow-up. Both items with a high

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

                                  development team meeting project milestones on time, to
                                  budget and in full.
                                 Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the
                                  product design and development are cohesive
                                 Act as Technical Authority for select systems
                                 Coordinate with the chosen subcontractor providing the control
                                  and instrumentation equipments
                                 Provide Vacuum simulation for special projects

                                 Play a key role in the marketing of new products by visiting
                                  customers where appropriate, with the sales and marketing
                                  teams, to deliver the technical aspects of customer
                                  presentations and answer technical questions.
                                 Work with the customer to resolve technical problems, refine
                                  customer specification requests and get feedback to incorporate
                                  into product developments.
                                 Write Test Procedures, user guides and operating manuals
                                 Assist manufacturing in testing and maintaining product
                                  conformity to technical standards.
                                 Provide Vacuum expertise for the Service & Manufacturing
                                  departments
                                 Carry out research and network with the wider technical
                                  community to ensure is at the leading edge of relevant
                                  technology.
                                 Generate ideas for new products

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 The essential               University degree in physics or similar scientific discipline

                             Data analysis skills (statistical analysis, model building, DOE) and
                              6-Sigma structured problem solving approach (FMEA, FTA, root
                              cause determination).
