                          today met Kevin RUDD,
                        Prime Minister of Australia



Javier SOLANA, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and
Security Policy (CFSP), today met Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss EU-Australian relations, as well as
strategic issues in the international agenda, namely the Middle East, Afghanistan and
climate change.

Mr SOLANA underlined the key role of Australia in the Asia-Pacific region and the
importance of the cooperation between Australia and the EU.
