NEW YORK & OSLO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Boyden, a global leader in executive search, today
released its a special edition of its Boyden Board of Directors Series featuring an in-depth interview with Norway’s
Svein Rennemo, Chairman of Statoil.

This interview is being released in tandem with “A Director’s Eye from Europe,” the fourth installment of Boyden’s
The Changing of the Board series, which examines perspectives from different systems of governance from
France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, following the most recent financial crisis.

In the interview with Boyden, Mr. Rennemo shares his views on the extra pressure on boards for oversight in the
current environment, checks and balances involving chairmen, Norway’s progressive governance system and
mandating female board members.

“Svein’s role as the Chairman of the largest company in the Nordic region draws on his deep experience and his
credentials as an established leader in the energy sector globally,” said Trina Gordon, Chairman and CEO of Boyden
World Corporation. “His collaborative approach of openness and debate and his high intellectual capacity are key
elements of success on the boards he leads.”

“Svein is well-recognized and well-respected, not only as one of the most experienced executives in the oil and gas
industry, but also as a board professional and thought-leader,” said Kaare Bringa, Managing Partner of Boyden
Oslo. “His broad international experience makes his insights into governance essential reading for current and
potential board members in Europe and globally.”

Svein Rennemo was appointed Chairman of the Board of Statoil ASA in April 2008. Prior to this position, he was
the CEO of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA. Mr. Rennemo worked for Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and
innovative plastics solutions, first as deputy CEO and CFO and, from 1997, as CEO.

Mr. Rennemo held various management positions in Statoil from 1982 to 1994, the last as head of the petrochemical
division. He was also an analyst and monetary policy and economics adviser at Norges Bank (the Norwegian
Central Bank), the OECD Secretariat in Paris and the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Rennemo also serves as Chair of the
board of Tomra Systems ASA and Pharmaq AS. He is an economist trained at the University of Oslo.
