Annual Dinner, January 29, 2004
Yes, the annual dinner is being held later in the month than it was last year. This year the dinner is being
held in Cromwell, CT, which should make it more central to a larger number of chapter members. Here is all
the important information you’ll need to get yourselves registered to attend our chapter’s popular annual
Attendance is limited, so send your checks in early to be sure you have a spot. Mail out your check by
January 15 to be sure I receive it in time to place a food order for you. I have not yet asked the Radisson
how they would handle extra people, but if they’re like last year’s location, you would get whatever they can
offer at the last minute (not necessarily what you’d choose from the items listed below).
Sleeping Rooms: Since this is a hotel, yes you can plan to extend your evening (and avoid the drive home
on a cold winter night). Call the Radisson at 800-308-4589 to make a room reservation. They have rooms
available (as of November 10) for $89.00. They won’t hold them for us unless we guarantee 10 rooms,
which the chapter can’t do. So call now to reserve your room.
Door Prizes: I haven’t asked Roger Chartier yet, but I sure hope he will again be in charge of acquiring the
door prizes. He has been very successful at doing this for the past few years. In past years we’ve given
away thousands of dollars in prizes.
Dinner Cost: includes hors D’oeuvres (sponsored by your chapter), appetizer, salad, main entrée, desert,
coffee, tea, tax, tip, and of course the main speaker and those great door prizes.
Cocktail Reception: Cash Bar and hors D’oeuvres 6:00 pm
Dinner and door prizes start at 7:00 pm
Grilled Salmon Fillet, served on a Lemon Caper Vinaigrette Mesclun Nest: $36.00
Chicken Francaise, skinless breast of chicken in herb egg batter, sautéed and served with a white wine lemon
cream sauce: $30.00
Bourbon Lily New York Sirloin, grilled and nestled on a bed of braised red and white onions speckled with
cracked black peppercorns: $37.00
Deadlines: Checks are now accepted. If you must cancel, please contact me before January 19. We must
give the Radisson a guaranteed count after that date. We may not be able to give you a refund if the
Radisson charges us for your dinner so be sure to leave a message on my phone, and be sure you have
received a call back from me.
