Hotel Overview
Built in 1867 and originally a railway hotel, the Great Victoria is a landmark Victorian
building slap bang in the heart of the vibrant and exciting city of Bradford. Over the years, it
has been a favourite haunt for wealthy merchants, stars of the stage, rock & pop and political
leaders. Today it is an award winning, stylish, contemporary hotel with 57 super chic,
individually styled bedrooms and suites, the ever popular Corniche Restaurant & Grill and
the RBar, which is the hotels funky, chilled out bar space. The hotel is opposite Bradford
Interchange train station, within walking distance to Bradford’s famous theatres, the National
Media Museum and all that the beautiful Yorkshire countryside has to offer. There is
complimentary on site parking for hotel guests.

Bedrooms & Suites
57 super stylish, individually designed bedrooms and suites with loads of original features.
Each room comes complete with flat screen TV, DVD player, direct dial phone,
complimentary broadband, great art, bespoke toiletries and of course the best of beds.

Restaurant
The Corniche Restaurant & Grill is a stunning space, with sky high ceilings and windows,
original wood panelling and features. It is a cool, contemporary room with original art
hanging on the walls. We are very serious about our food which is typically modern English
with a delicious contemporary twist. The menus are ever changing and reflect our use of
fresh local produce and where possible, we like to go Organic! The wine list is extensive
with a wonderfully varied choice to suit all taste buds.

Bar
RBar is sexy, cool and chilled out - a great space to unwind. Kick back and relax in to our
sumptuous leather sofas whilst checking out the crowd. Open throughout the day and
serving yummy bar snacks until early evening.

Rooms
There are 3 rooms on the ground floor – Camargue, Lanchester and Dragonfly – and 1
larger space on the lower ground floor – Velasco. All named after fabulous Rolls Royce
cars. Each room is unique and all have wonderful high ceilings, bags of natural light and many
original features.

Civil Ceremonies & Civil Partnerships
Both our stunning Velasco and Camargue Rooms are licensed to hold your Ceremony.
Please speak to us about maximum numbers in these rooms. You are responsible for
applying to the Registrar to book your Civil Ceremony. Bradford’s Register Office number is
01274 432151.

Bar License
The bar in Velasco is available and fully staffed throughout the day and evening. We are
licensed to serve alcohol up to 12.30 am from Monday to Saturday and up to 11.30pm on
Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Flowers, cakes, cars, photography, table decorations, stationery and much
more
We are happy to give recommendations and offer you details on all aspects of your big day.
Our recommendations are based on our own positive experiences and customer feedback.

Confetti
Sorry but confetti is not allowed within the building or outside of the hotel. If confetti is
thrown then a £150 clean up charge will apply – this is kinder to the environment and our
surroundings!

Entertainment
Our DJ is included in the package price.

Pre Wedding Ideas
Looking to do something different to celebrate the upcoming Big Day! Please speak to us
about hiring a private room for a relaxed dinner for you and your friends. The Great
Victoria offer’s something extra special. Drinks, nibbles and a night of pure indulgence –
why not hire out one of our Suites and the services of our professional, fully qualified
therapists offering a range of delectable treatments including facials, massage, pedicure and
manicure. This is one of many options – please ask us for other ideas!

To help ease the pressure of all the decisions that need to be made for your big day, we
have put together three incredible packages for you to choose from. Each offers a range of
choices to suit all tastes. Our packages are based on a minimum of 70 guests attending
the Wedding Breakfast and apply to Fridays and Saturdays throughout June, July,
August and early September – this also includes Sundays in August.

                 Weddings at the Great Victoria – The Small Print

These terms and conditions form a contract between the Great Victoria Hotel and you, the
Bride & Groom and any such person contributing to the cost of the wedding. Please read
these terms and conditions thoroughly as they are binding once you have signed them.

1. Provisional Booking
A provisional booking can be held for a maximum of 28 days unless the function is less than
12 months away, when it will be 14 days.

2. Confirmation of Date
We require written confirmation and a signed copy of the terms and conditions to confirm
your provisional date.

3. Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of £500 is required after the agreed provisional period is up. Then
a following 25% of the anticipated total three months before your wedding date.

4. Payment Details
Final Payment is required two weeks before your wedding date. Any outstanding amounts
must be settled on the day after your wedding.

5. Number of Guests
For wedding breakfasts taking place at the Great Victoria on a Friday or Saturday
throughout June – September inclusive and Sundays in August, a minimum of 70 guests
applies with a maximum of 130 guests. For evening receptions a maximum of 200 guests
apply. The exact numbers for the event need to be confirmed 14 days prior.

6. Cancellation
In the event of a cancellation the Great Victoria will do all in its power to re-sell the
reserved space, if we are successful we may waive all or some of the cancellation charges. If
Woodlands is unable to re-sell the reserved space (or is able to sell only part of the
reserved space), the following cancellation charges will apply to the unsold space:-

        •   Cancellation 6 months to 3 months - 50% of the total value
        •   Cancellation 3 months to 1 month - 75% of the total value
        •   Cancellation 1 month to actual day - 100% of the total value

7. Cancellation by Great Victoria
In the unlikely event of the hotel cancelling your event, we would arrange an alternative
venue of a similar standard. If we are unable to do this then a full refund will be given.

8. Damage
Whilst every effort must be made to safeguard our furniture and fittings, any damage caused
by you or your guests will be repaired by Great Victoria and the cost will be charged to you.
Sorry but if Confetti is thrown within the hotel then a £150 clean up charge will apply.

9. Loss or Damage to Property of Guests
Great Victoria will not be held responsible or be liable for any loss or damage to the
property of guests, in accordance with the Hotel Proprietors Act 1965.

10. Health and Safety
All guests must comply with all regulations concerning licensing, fire, health and safety

11. Insurance
To safeguard against unforeseen cancellations, we would recommend you take out an
insurance policy against all of the above

12. Bedrooms
We are happy to hold bedrooms for you and your guests at the time of confirmation of
your booking. Any bedrooms unconfirmed 2 months prior to your wedding day will be
released for general sale. We will be in touch prior to releasing any bedrooms.

And finally, Great Victoria Hotel Ltd reserves the right to alter or increase any prices
without prior notice.
