FROM: Art Department

DATE: November 2, 2004

SUBJECT: BFA Studio Art-Degree Requirements

The Art Department requests permission to remove Foreign Language from the
requirements for the BFA Degree in studio Art. This move is being taken to facilitate
accreditation for the degree, which by definition is a specialized, professionally oriented
program. It will enable the art Department to better serve student needs, and it will help
it to be comparable with the BFA degree programs offered by peer institutions.

TO: University and College Curriculum Committee

FROM: Art Department

DATE: October 26, 2004

SUBJECT: Art Requirements

The Art Department requests permission to amend the basic requirements for Art both
BA and BFA Degrees as follows:

ART 312- Drawing II should be listed as a basic degree requirement for Art
Majors in all specialization tracks in Art for both BA and BFA degree programs
        with the following exception:

This will not include majors in the Graphic and Online design track in
both BA and BFA programs (for which it will not be a requirement).

ART 425 Special Problems in Drawing will be accepted as fulfilling
degree requirements for the two majors until this change takes effect.

Note: This memo corrects one dated April 8th 2004, which categorized Drawing II as an
elective for the major and listed it with two courses, which were added as non-required
electives at that time.
