SafeGuard PrivateDisk ® Benefits Enhanced security • Proven, secure cryptography (AES-128 and AES-256 bit algorithms) • Safekeeping for valuable corporate and personal information • Protection against unauthorized access • Support for implementation of organizations’ security policies • Protection of enterprise assets Easy to deploy • Central configuration and distribution • Deployment via Windows Installer or other software management tools • No expensive infrastructure • Rapid, low-cost implementation—even for large installations The virtual hard drive that’s like an electronic vault for your confidential files The success of any information security technology program is contingent upon user acceptance: if users don’t use the security technology regularly and effectively, your critical data is vulnerable. Accepted by users and administrators alike, SafeGuard PrivateDisk provides the scalability to meet your organization’s specific needs. SafeGuard PrivateDisk Personal Edition is ideal for small- and medium-sized offices. The Enterprise Edition is suitable for large-scale deployment and offers sophisticated configuration tools, including central administration for rapid, lowcost implementation. Both editions support the use of smartcards and public key infrastructures (PKI). SafeGuard PrivateDisk constructs a virtual hard drive that functions like an electronic vault for stored files. Users simply store or save electronic data (documents, records, etc.) that is on their PCs or network to a single SafeGuard PrivateDisk volume file and the files are instantly encrypted. Any differences from a regular hard disk are totally transparent to users. They can create, save, move, and copy files as usual. Users can save these encrypted files onto network servers, local hard disks, and any portable storage media (e.g., floppy or Zip disks, CDs, memory sticks). SafeGuard PrivateDisk offers versatile protection, low cost of ownership, scalability, and ease of use. The user-friendly program provides a number of authentication choices including passphrases, X.509 certificates, smartcards, and tokens. Users like SafeGuard PrivateDisk’s simplicity and convenience. IT professionals like it because users actually use it and corporate assets remain secure. The result: organization-wide security policies stay in force. • Scalability from a single PC up to organization-wide rollouts Easy to use • Ease of learning leads to high user acceptance • Simple functionality—the virtual drive is used just like an actual hard drive • Capability to operate several PrivateDisk setups in parallel About Utimaco Utimaco Safeware developed its first IT security software in 1983.
