Rockhurst Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase has decided he wants to play college football at the University of Illinois
Nathan Scheelhaase, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete from Rockhurst High in Missouri will be one of the most highly recruited players in the Midland region for the 2009 recruiting class. Scheelhaase accounted for 2,778 yards of offense and 34 touchdowns, leading unbeaten Rockhurst (13-0) to the Class 6 state title. Averaging 21.6 yards per completion, Scheelhaase connected on 86-of-137 passes for 1,861 yards and 20 touchdowns against just five interceptions, and also rushed for 917 yards and 14 touchdowns on 123 carries. Scheelhaase has maintained a 3.7 GPA in the classroom. A varsity basketball standout and member of the National Honor Society, Scheelhaase is active in numerous community-service initiatives, including the Multicultural and Ethnicity Educational Team.
