We are sponsoring artists instead of skaters to explore and expand the culture and ideas that have made skateboarding as popular as it is today.
So far it’s been great! Getting in touch with old friends and meeting new ones to contribute. Everyone’s been very excited to be a part of Designarium. You can see by the first batch of graphics that the artists were into the whole idea and really ran with it. From Shepard Fairey’s detailed work on his idea to replace the animal black panther with a 60’s revolutionary black panther, to Thomas Campbell’s signature model- I think we are bringing something new and worthwhile to the table. Next season will be a new batch of artist bringing their own take on the old panther graphic and throwing in some of their own work as well, stay tuned.
