									Dr. Dan Tran
Medical Director
A pioneer in ophthalmology, Dr. Tran is a doctor of many firsts. He was the first
surgeon in the world to use a commercial IntraLase laser to perform bladeless
LASIK procedures, which is now the standard of care for laser vision correction
and used by many prominent refractive surgeons. He was the first surgeon in
the world to combine the commercial use of IntraLase technology with Intacs
(intrastromal corneal rings) to treat patients with keratoconus, a disorder that
leads to loss of vision in young adults.

As a clinical investigator participating in FDA clinical trials and a member of
the medical advisory board for several ophthalmic companies. Dr. Tran has had
the opportunity to develop and improve several ophthalmic technologies such
as phakic intraocular lenses (IOL) for high myopia, IOL in cataract surgery,
femtosecond laser in bladeless LASIK as well as cataracts surgeries, corneal inlays
to treat presbyopia, and intraoperative wavefront aberrometry in cataract surgery
being use today. As a surgeon, Dr. Tran has excellent LASIK surgical outcomes
with less than 1.5 percent enhancement rate. He also specializes in refractive
IOL surgery in previous LASIK patients with refractive outcomes much above the
industry standard. Dr. Tran is the surgeon of choice for thousands of eye doctors,
physicians, and other high-level executives in the ophthalmic industry.

A board-certified ophthalmologist for more than 10 years, Dr. Tran has performed
more than 20,000 LASIK and refractive IOL procedures.

Combining engineering and medical studies have given Dr. Tran a unique
perspective on developing new technologies, new uses for existing technologies
and new treatments for vision correction.
