Induction
A well-planned induction programme will welcome new staff to the University. As
well as providing basic information about the organisation, it will help to integrate

The Welcome to the University Conference
New staff are invited to the ‘Welcome to the University’ Conference to meet senior

the Conference is to supplement local induction arrangements by providing a more
strategic overview of the University’s opportunities and aims, as well as providing the
opportunity for staff to meet other new entrants, representatives of support
departments and recognised trade unions. The Conference is run twice a year and is
organised by the Staff Development Unit.
