									WATER QUALITY ANALYST, SENIOR CLASS PURPOSE To plan, develop and coordinate the implementation of water quality programs; develop program plans, regulations, standards, guidelines and funding proposals; plan, conduct, and manage water quality projects and analyze results; perform related work. GENERAL INFORMATION Some positions involve exposure to hazardous substances and working in inclement weather. Baseline and periodic medical monitoring may be required. These positions involve lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Program planning, development and coordination. Typical responsibilities: assesses program needs and develops and recommends program activities to address complex water quality problems; develops program plans, goals, objectives, policies, work plans and priorities with input from staff and project advisory committees; identifies potential program funding sources and develops and manages grants and contracts; develops program information and education materials; provides liaison and coordinates program activities with interest groups, other agencies and organizations; conducts public meetings and testifies in public and legislative hearings on program issues; develops program agreements; develops, recommends and monitors budgets; prepares reports
