									VETERANS HOME ADMINISTRATOR, REGIONAL CLASS PURPOSE To manage a state veterans home providing 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, longterm health care to eligible State veterans; serve as institutional advocate and representative; perform related work. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Management. Typical responsibilities: plans, organizes, directs, and controls institutional staff and operations including program, security, fiscal, personnel, resident care, and facility management; establishes institutional goals and standards; directs development and implementation of the institutional program plan, policies and operating procedures and ensures compatibility with department plans and policies; directs development of and controls budgets; directs staff through subordinate supervisors; directs a management team; resolves internal conflicts and employee grievances; directs the development of systems for monitoring quality of care, security, client rights, and fiscal and program integrity; plans and initiates new care programs such as home health, assisted living, respite care, sub-acute care; ensures institutional compliance with laws, rules, policies and standards, and security, safety, sanitation, licensure, and accreditation requirements; directs quality assurance activities; develops and submits capital improvement plans and annual requests. 2.
