					TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM CONTROL MANAGER CLASS PURPOSE To develop and update transportation programs and plans for highway development and construction projects; manage staff in budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, construction cost estimation, and project coordination and scheduling; perform related work. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Management. Typical responsibilities: develops unit schedules, goals, policies, and procedures; coordinates and/or presents staff training; hires, trains, and evaluates staff. 2. Policy/legislative. Typical responsibilities: advises management on federal legislation and impact on department activities; maintains a master funding plan; coordinates with the Federal Highway Administration to update the public lands program; submits applications for funding to State Transportation Department Board, and oversees the implementation of new federal highway provisions; develops work program deadlines and target dates; develops contract construction and right-of-way manpower and cashflow reports for executive budget; develops grant applications for special projects. 3.
