MOTOR CARRIER SERVICES MANAGER CLASS PURPOSE To manage company wide motor carrier registration and audit programs and administer local and international motor carrier registration programs; perform related work. NATURE AND SCOPE This position plans, organizes, directs, and controls staff involved in the motor carrier registration and motor carrier audit programs. The incumbent is responsible for hiring, training, work assignment and direction, evaluating performance, and disciplining of a program supervisor and an audit supervisor, and is the hiring authority for support staff. The incumbent develops and administers the section budget; develops regulations, policies, procedures, and administrative rules; and drafts, proposes, and implements legislation. Incumbent may serve as Division Administrator during absences. This position is responsible for providing one stop shop services for the trucking industry including registration and collection of required federal and state taxes and State Public Utilities fees. The incumbent develops regulations, policies, and procedures to coordinate services required under the International Registration Plan (IRP) for state and federal agencies and other jurisdictions.
