IT SYSTEMS SECURITY ANALYST CLASS PURPOSE In the information technology (IT) field, to implement security policies and procedures, diagnose and resolve security problems, and promote education and awareness of security related issues; perform related work. GENERAL INFORMATION This is the career level. At this level, incumbents perform the full range of tasks and have in-depth knowledge of automated resource protection necessary to implement policies and procedures and perform multi-system risk analysis. This role is typically associated with large multi-tasking systems. EXAMPLES OF WORK (may include but is not limited to): Implements and monitor policies and procedures for security and disaster recovery; assists IT staff in the integration of business requirements regarding security and disaster recovery; utilizes security software packages and related procedures to administer user access and ensure adherence to security policies; implements and ensures all applications incorporate disaster recovery procedures; develops and monitors security education and awareness programs throughout the organization; audits security access control design practices to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. May perform disaster recovery planning. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Good knowledge of : data file structures. Experience: working with one or more security software packages; working with software products and hardware components; performing diagnostics for multitasking security problems; implementing and maintaining vendor supplied security software; analyzing risk assessment needs; eliciting IT information from users; writing IT related procedures.
