About:
Born in San Francisco, Kalani Engles attended Sequoia High School and San Mateo
College, then continued her art training at Stanford University. She has lived in Portola
Valley since 1960. Since 1980 she has maintained a studio at the Portola Valley Town
Center where she paints in oil, creates sculptures in steel and prints on her etching
press. Kalani's subjects include landscapes and her rhythmic brushwork, sophisticated
compositional sense and exuberant palette gives her work a freshness and energy that
is distinctly her own.
