RECAP OF FEBRUARY MHS PTSA SPEAKERS – Attendees became students while
Beth Latini and Jackie Nicodemus co-taught the “class” with a smart board, video,
and active class participation, among other teaching tools. Co-taught classes cover
core subjects only and have up to 8 IEP students with non-IEP students randomly
selected for a total of 24 students. Co-taught students answered our questions and
described the many benefits they acquire from learning in co-taught classes. For
example, they discover the ways they learn the best and use that knowledge in
their non-core subjects and outside the classroom as well. All attendees left class
hoping their kids will be selected for co-taught classes. Don’t miss next month’s
presentation on AP and Regents exams on Tuesday, March 8th at 9 am.
