specifically prohibits the removal or alteration of a VIN? Proposed legislation has been set out
to change just that. Under new amendments anyone convicted of tampering with a VIN could
face imprisonment for up to 5 years and/or a maximum fine of $2000.
How can CarProof be of assistance? CarProof vehicle history reports can aid in identifying
potential vehicle clones. If a report presents concurrent registrations, brandings and/or
insurance claims data on the same vehicle in various jurisdictions, alarm bells should sound.
