Mio Dio Gift Boutique Opening Supports Downtown Mount Clemens
Growth into a Specialty Retail District

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – Mio Dio Collection just opened their boutique in Mount Clemens’
Southend. This new store continues the districts’ evolution into a destination shopping district.

Mio Dio Boutique joins the Anton Art Center, Gemini Moon, Max and Ollies, River of Glass,
and Tis Country stores in Downtown Mount Clemens. A cluster of specialty retailers is
forming where customers can shop for unique gifts and accessories.

Need to find a unique gift? Mio Dio Boutique is the place to visit. The boutique is stocked with
distinctive gifts from a number of designers and local artists. Their tagline is “Pretty Things for
Happy People”, and they help their customers to “Shop Local and Support Michigan!”

Have a pet that needs accessorizing or treats? Mio Dio is the place too. They carry House of
Lulu Beasty Balls, Gozo Dog Collars and Leashes, and Arfully Good Dog Treats! All of the
animal treats are tested by Sawyer, the owner’s favorite ______.

Unique store items include:
    Brit Chic Designs - _____,
    Envious Takeoff - _____
 Green Daffodil Studio – Ferndale-made soy candles that burn wonderfully, nice and clean
 Itty Bitty Urban Turbans – super soft hats for babies,

the only place you can buy this clothing in Macomb County! Aptemal’s slogan is “Detroit
Hustles Harder”. Go and check out this line of clothing that is taking Detroit by storm.

Mio Dio Boutique supports local artists by displaying their hand-made wares. To support the
local artist community, Mio Dio takes a much smaller commission than many other area stores.
Owner Cat Kynaston believes that it is vitally important to support the local creatives.
Charging artists lower commission supports these area artists, especially during this downturn.

Started in 2009 by two friends, Cat Kynaston and Erin Jean Langdon, Mio Dio Boutique has
grown beyond their original vision of selling hand-made feather headbands and unique hairclips.

Cat Kynaston is Mio Dio’s owner, and the store is located at 183 S. Main St. The boutique’s
phone number is 586.649.2006. They may be found on the web at
http://www.facebook.com/miodiocollection and at www.miodiocollection.com.

Mio Dio Boutique is open Tuesdays through Friday 11 AM – 6 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM –
4 PM.

The opening of Mio Dio demonstrates Mount Clemens continued success in garnering
significant commercial investment. Since May 2010, the Downtown Mount Clemens core
ground floor retail/restaurant vacancy rate has declined in more than half!
