Fox has renewed its medical drama "House" for an eighth season, ending speculation the quirky show might move to NBC.
"House" is produced by NBCUniversal, and trade publications had speculated that if Fox wouldn't meet the producers' price,
parent NBC would be delighted to grab a proven hit.
As with many veteran shows, "House" has seen a gradual decline in ratings and an increase in production costs. But it remains a
ratings and critical hit that Fox wasn't going to abandon.
"House" has two more shows this season - next Monday and the finale May 23. The promotions promise that its title character,
Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), will engage in his "craziest" behavior yet - which may include performing surgery on himself.
