Physician as a Career Introduction Being a physician, or choosing to be a physician as a career, entails many elements. It is not simply a profession that people decide to do and the do. It is a profession that takes many years of study and training, and then a determination and commitment to the profession. The following paper examines the career of a physician.
Physician as a Career What does a physician do: A physician can ultimately be employed doing a variety of things. For example, they can specialize and become neurosurgeons or they can become family practitioners. They can be pediatricians or podiatrists. They can be surgeons or specialists or just all around physicians. As such the field is clearly very diverse and offers the opportunity to engage in a myriad of choices in relationship to what they would do. Generally speaking, however, a physician tends to the health care needs of individuals whether they are prescribing an antibiotic or performing heart surgery.
