BUSINESS MATChMAKING

USHCC Business Matchmaking is tailored for Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs) to meet and dialogue with federal
government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. A distinctively unique forum, participants have the opportunity to meet
and engage with procurement officers.

Last year more than 30 buyers were on hand for one-on-one meetings with HBEs. Buyers represented Fortune 500
companies and federal agencies, boasted combined purchasing budgets representing hundreds of millions of dollars worth
of opportunities.

Small businesses, or “Sellers,” pre-register for the event using individual NAICS codes or business categories. Meetings last
approximately 15 minutes, are on a first-come first-serve basis, and present an opportunity for Buyers and Sellers to discuss
each others’ specific projects and capabilities.

We invite all HBEs to pre-register and participate in this fantastic opportunity.

ThE UlTIMATE lATINA lUNChEON

Every year, the USHCC celebrates women trailblazers who make a positive impact within the Hispanic community and who
embody the values of the organization.

The USHCC has named Ms. Gloria Estefan as the recipient of the 2011 Ultimate Latina Award and will be recognizing her

It is with this commitment, the USHCC Foundation developed a partnership with the Nonprofit Professional Development
and Executive Education teams of Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame in 2010, and created the
USHCC Chamber Training Institute.

In cooperation with Notre Dame, the USHCC hosts a 2-day training session, free of charge to all chamber members, as
part of the USHCC’s Annual National Convention & Business Expo. Utilizing information gleaned from a survey of our 200
chamber leaders, Notre Dame created a unique curriculum based on nonprofit and for-profit criteria and resonating with
chamber members and small business owners.

The USHCC Foundation chose Notre Dame for the creation of the new training based on their reputation for excellence. In
2009, Business Week ranked Notre Dame’s Executive Education Custom Program 19th in the nation and its full-time MBA
program was ranked 20th.

BIZFEST: yOUTh ENTREPRENEURShIP COMPETITION

Utilizing an exceptional training program integrated into a competitive atmosphere, BizFest is a unique program that
empowers Latino youth with knowledge and insight into the world of business. Delivered by the University of Texas –
Pan American (UTPA), BizFest is a signature program of the USHCC Foundation.

Throughout the year, the USHCC Foundation presents BizFest in a number of cities across the United States. The program
includes an intensive 3-day workshop that offers hands-on, practical training for aspiring entrepreneurs, thus empowering
Hispanic high school students with the tools and motivation to stay in school, go to college and become future Hispanic
business leaders of this country.

As students go through the academic component, they develop a viable business idea and business plan, which is then
presented to a panel of judges. Laptops are awarded to the top three winners to aid them in their academic pursuits.
Winners of regional competitions are then invited to compete at the National BizFest Competition, held as part of the
USHCC’s Annual National Convention and Business Expo.

GREEN BUIlDS BUSINESS

The USHCC’s Green Builds Business program is a full day of coaching for Hispanic small businesses on best green practices
in an effort to lower operating costs, increase revenues, and motivate workers while enhancing the health of people and the
planet. Led by Bill Roth, Founder of Earth 2017, the coaching includes practices adopted by such companies as Walmart.

As part of the 32nd Annual National Convention & Business Expo, the USHCC Foundation will select 20 small businesses in
the local community to participate in a 1-day workshop on best practices, including:

• Pricing, marketing and branding that grow green revenues
• Reducing environmental footprint and operating costs
• Motivating work associates with opportunities that help the company and the planet

Additionally, at least one of these businesses will be selected to receive up to 24 hours of one-on-one coaching (a $6,000
value) to formulate a green business plan or implement a green project that holds the potential of creating jobs, growing
profits and reducing emissions.
