1.     Introduction and welcome

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Computer Aided
Product Design and Computer Aided Engineering Design awards.

Your specific award is one of two design awards run by the School of Engineering
and the Built Environment (SEBE). These awards have a common modular structure
and the two awards are shown below:

This Pathway document aims to provide a helpful guide to the course and its structure.

This is a very important time in your life. The outcome of your studies could affect the
whole of your future career. You should, therefore, devote most of your time to study

6.     Careers in Computer Aided Product Design and Computer
       Aided Engineering Design


The Computer Aided Product Design and Computer Aided Engineering Design Awards
both aim to ensure that the successful graduate is able to demonstrate the ability to
design products in the professional world of design. This can only be achieved by
building on knowledge of sound education in the design process and producing
graduates who are confident and competent in the application of new technologies in
the design field. The acquisition of these skills will then enable the graduate to become
a professional product or engineering designer.

As part of the university’s support policy the Gateway facility on City Campus provides
a range of services to assist graduates in identifying career opportunities.
