					The Kingdom-life of God
**We’d like to use the Home Page this week to basically reiterate the mission of this website and to encourage every earnest believer who has experienced true spiritual regeneration to press forward in your faith until God’s undivided kingdom is established in your heart, which is both the promise and the glory of the New Covenant. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Love has been perfected among us in this…because as He is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:16-17) His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life {His Kingdom-life of love} and godliness…by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature… (2 Pet. 1:3-4) When Scriptures are difficult to understand, and a subject is hard to grasp, the mind will naturally lose interest. We therefore make a special plea for our readers to stay with us as we use this site in an attempt to explain some difficult, but important truths found in God’s Word concerning the new “life” we are to receive from Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. The collection of teachings on this site are intended to help earnest Christians better understand the spiritual life we can now all enjoy as we live in the kingdom of God. This lesson provides a general understanding of what we mean by the term “Kingdom-life.” As the opening texts reveal, Christians now have an opportunity to enter into a real participation with God in His divine nature so they may become like Him in love. Through a work of His divine power, everyone who truly believes in the Lord Jesus Christ can enter into an experiential participation with Him in His heavenly spiritual life. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life…” (John 10:10) The original Greek word used for “life” in this Scripture has a very special meaning. It obviously does not refer to the physical life we already possess. The Scriptures use distinctly different Greek words to differentiate between our physical life and the spiritual life that Christ has made available to us from heaven.

Whenever the New Testament speaks of the “life” we are to receive from the Son of God, it is referring to His Kingdom-life of divine love {the Greek word “zoe”}. His indwelling life of love enables us to naturally live in harmony with His teachings, including those He taught in His Sermon on the Mount. This Kingdom-life provides us with the Son’s submissive and loving nature. Everyone who becomes a partaker with Him in His divine nature will also become one in nature with each other. And the glory {the spiritual life and image} which You {the Father} gave Me {the Son} I have given them, that they may be one {in life and nature} just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one…that the love with which You loved Me {the life of perfect love} may be in them, and I in them. (John 17:22-23, 26) It is God’s life of divine love filling our souls that will make us all one in nature with each other. There is nothing that man can do through his own efforts to produce this unity of life. The life must be received from the Son through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Son of God is looking for people who will follow Him into His “light of life.” All true light comes from Him. “In Him was life {the Kingdom-life}, and that life was the light of men.” (John 1:4) And, as Jesus has stated, we can now follow Him through the cross {which implies a real dying out to our old way of life} and into the light of His Kingdom-life of love. If anyone desires to come after Me {into the Kingdom-life}, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me… Whoever loses his life {his old flesh-life} for My sake will find it. (Matt. 16:24-25) I am the light of the world. He who follows Me {through the cross} shall not walk in darkness {they will not walk by the flesh}, but have the light of life {the Kingdom-life}. (John 8:12) Jesus is calling people into a spiritual life that is seldom revealed through the members of Christ’s body in this day. It will therefore be necessary to overcome a prevalent state of “unbelief.” In spite of what other Christians may think, we are asking our readers to believe what the Scriptures teach. The followers of Jesus are to enter into a new heavenly life that is entirely

different than anything they have ever known before. The New Testament is filled with this basic thought. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self {the old flesh-life}, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph. 4:22-24) We “put on” the life of God by responding to the Spirit and permitting Him to lead us into His “life” of promise – His Kingdom-life. As Jesus has said, everyone who will “lose” their old way of living by the flesh will “find” His spiritual life from heaven. (Matt. 16:25) The Scriptures are very clear on this matter: “His life may be revealed in our mortal body.” (2 Cor. 4:11) It is a life that is imparted to the soul by the power of the Spirit when we are willing to fully submit to His ways. “Whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him.” (1 John 2:5) Once again, we exhort you to keep these thoughts always in mind as you read the various lessons provided on this site, which are designed to show both the beauty and the availability of this “Pearl of Great Price” {the Kingdom-life} and to help guide earnest believers into a real participation with Christ in the “divine nature.” (2 Pet. 1:3-4)
