Questions People Ask.
Q. How can a God of love condemn any soul to hell?
A. The Catholic Catechism calls hell ‘the state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with
God and the blessed.‘ Notice the words self-inclusion, inferring that people exclude themselves
from God‘s invitation by deliberately rejecting God and the ways of justice and love. ‗And the
judgement is this, though the light has come into the world people have preffered darkness to the
light because their deeds were evil. And indeed, everybody who does wrong hates, the light and
avoides it, to prevent his actions from being shown up‘ (John 32:19-20)
Robe Pastoral Area Summer 2012 Overseas Volunteering
The ‗Robe Pastoral Area‘ which is made up of Ballinrobe, Partry, Kilmaine and Roundfort is
delighted to announce details of a new exciting community initiative. In short, a group of
volunteers from this Pastoral Area will spend a number of weeks on an overseas development
project in Summer 2012. The initiative is being organised by members of the Robe Pastoral Area
and SERVE, an overseas development and volunteer organisation. SERVE has placed volunteers,
including many from this area, on it‘s overseas programmes since 2003 to countries in Asia, South
America and Africa. Further details will be outlined at all masses across the ‗Robe Pastoral Area‘ on
the weekend of March 12th and 13th. In the meantime, check out the SERVE website for more
information and for links to its Facebook and Youtube page. Website: www.serve.ie.
