The Jeppesen family grew up in sunny California during the 50s.
It was great, but in the 60s it was getting crowded.
Uncle Boyd was a State Farm agent in Brigham City and told
Darryl about an opening in Tremonton. “Whatever Dad did...he did for
his kids. He wanted a better life for them,” Ron says. So Mom, Dad
and six boys moved to Tremonton. In August 1960, Dad started as a
State Farm agent from scratch (with no policy holders).
He said, “There are two types of people in this world...those that
have State Farm and those that don’t!” Also... “Life insurance is
important...nobody gets out of this world alive!”
Ron worked for Thiokol as an electrician, then for his Dad. He left
for two years and worked as an auto adjuster. He graduated with a
bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law with a Minor in sociology in 1988. In
August 1990 he took over his father’s business (30 years later) with the
same love and enthusiasm his father had. “I love it! Every day is new!
Like my dad before me I will live my life as a State Farm agent. I eat,
drink and sleep State Farm. I even bleed red and white!”
“State Farm is the best company in the world and my policy hold-
ers keep it that way!” Ron says.
Jennifer Steward started with State Farm when she was 15 years
old. She says that it was the best opportunity she has had in her life.
“The people mean so much to me. I’ve learned more in this office than
in all the years I’ve gone to college.” (She graduated in June 1997 with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Law, which took her 10 years to
complete, between working full-time, etc.) With her gorgeous face, Ron Jeppesen and
pretty smile, tolerance, spunk, typing and computer skills, she has been
well sought after . . . even by other companies! Will she ever think Jennifer Stewart
about leaving? Not in this lifetime!
