              NZ CITIZEN ENDORSEMENT APPLICATION CHECKLIST
                                  Updated 05 September 2011

Please ensure you use the most recent form. Form and current application fee can be
found on our website www.immigration.govt.nz

Please note the following:

   If you are a New Zealand citizen holding a foreign passport and wish to travel to New
    Zealand with that passport, you will need to apply for an endorsement. Evidence of your
    citizenship can be any of the following:

        1. A New Zealand passport.
        2. A New Zealand birth certificate issued prior to 1 January 2006.
        3. A New Zealand birth certificate issued on or after 1 January 2006 that positively
            indicates citizenship.
        4. Certificate of grant of New Zealand citizenship.
        5. Confirmation of New Zealand citizenship by descent certificate issued under
            section 7(2) of the Citizenship Act 1977.
        6. An evidentiary certificate issued under section 21 of the Citizenship Act 1977
            confirming that you are a New Zealand citizen.
   You can request for an electronic endorsement (no label) or a label to be endorsed on
    the passport.
   Each family member needs to complete an application form and pay the application fee.
   When you renew your foreign passport, you will need to apply for the endorsement to be
    endorsed in the new passport.
   The application fee for the first and second and subsequent application is different. Refer
    to the fee finder on our website for the amount payable.
   Holders of Returning Resident’s Visa (RRV) issued under the Immigration Act 1987 - If
    an RRV is endorsed in your current foreign passport, you may travel to and enter New
    Zealand until the expiry of the passport.

First, second and subsequent application – label to be endorsed in passport

Please provide the following documents:

1. A fully completed and signed NZ Citizen Endorsement Application (INZ 1174).
2. Application fee to be paid in Singapore Dollars by Visa or Mastercard credit card, bank draft or
   Singapore bank cheque made payable to Immigration New Zealand. The fee is NON-
   REFUNDABLE.
3. 1 passport size photo.
4. Your original foreign country passport.
5. Original or certified copy of your New Zealand passport or evidence of your New Zealand
   citizenship (see Section C of the application form).
6. Your previous original foreign passport endorsed with a valid NZ Citizen endorsement label (if you
   are applying for second and subsequent application)

4. Your original foreign country passport or certified copy of your passport details page.
5. Your previous original foreign passport endorsed with a valid NZ Citizen endorsement label (if
   applicable)

Processing time

     3 working days.

Endorsement of your label
If you have selected to have the label endorsed in the passport, you may come in person with your
passport to have your label endorsed or send your original passport(s) to this office and include a
courier fee for the return of your passport. The courier fee payable in Singapore Dollars by Visa or
Mastercard credit card bank draft or Singapore bank cheque is as follows:
