Okoroire Mid Winter Fun Ride – Itinerary
Bikes and Transport
You are responsible for transporting your bike to and from the event. This is a
winter ride so please make sure your bike is serviced and ready to go. Remember
this is a winter ride so it is likely to be wet.

If you wish to car pool or require a ride down please contact Rochelle Young,
who maybe able to hook you up with others who will be travelling down.

There is a storage facility at Opal Hot Springs over night so you do not need to
worry about bike security.

NO BIKES IN ROOMS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Accommodation is at Opal Hot Springs and Holiday Park, Okauia Springs Road, RD 1
Matamata – www.opalshotsprings.co.nz for further details.

You will require bedding as not all bedding is supplied with cabins. You will
be given a list of who you will be bunking with. If you have any questions
please direct these to Rochelle Young NOT Opal Hot Springs Staff.

Department of Cycling is also providing a roast dinner on Saturday night, beef,
chicken, roast potatoes, pumpkin, kumara, peas/beans. As well a dessert –
Catherine Webb’s apple crumble and ice cream. Please let Rochelle know as soon
as possible if you require a vegetarian meal. Dinner will be at 7pm.

We will car pool to the ride and leave some cars at Opal Hot Springs as we are
able to return for a swim and shower before heading home or to the Horse &
Jockey Tavern for refreshments on the way out of town. This is your choice you
can return directly to Auckland from Okoroire.

NOTE: This is not a late check out. But the ability to use the facilities after
the ride, we can not go back into the rooms.

   •   Be ready to leave for Okoroire at 9.15am at the latest.
   •   Breakfast and food for the ride is your own responsibility.
   •   Make sure you have your cycling gear organised and ready.
   •   Ride entry is your own responsibility.
