Bio for: KELSEY JOHNSON, Planner Sanders Wacker Bergly, Inc. Kelsey Johnson is a community and regional planner with outstanding experience in the public sector. She has worked as a planner and consulting staff planner for two communities. Her experience as a staff planner provides her with unique skills that allow her to ensure that planning decisions can be practically applied. Kelsey Johnson previously served as a planner at the City of Ankeny, Iowa and is currently SWB’s consulting planner to the City of Mahtomedi, Minnesota. She has also served as the project manager and lead planner on Comprehensive Plan updates and Zoning Ordinance updates. Kelsey collaborated with David Wanberg on the Mahtomedi Comprehensive Plan Update 2008-2030 which focuses on “Sustaining Our ‘Small Town’ City”. As a part of the Mahtomedi Comprehensive Plan update Kelsey participated in a series of sustainability workshops with the Comprehensive Steering Committee. Kelsey has a degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University where she developed a broad base of knowledge in the planning field. This knowledge, combined with her public sector planning experience, has enabled her to develop an integrated approach to understanding and addressing the variety of planning and design issues that communities face.
