Hints for a Successful Job Hunt
• • • • • • A positive attitude, the tenacity of a terrier and a well developed plan will greatly increase the effectiveness of your search. Know your skills – look at what you have learned from past employment, hobbies or volunteering & list them. Write an effective resume – keep the language simple and effective and try to keep the length down to 2 pages. Networking – most jobs are not advertised. “It’s who you know!” The interview – be prepared and be positive. Do your research and learn about the company. Alternatives – many positions are self created, part time or temporary. Entrepreneurship may be your strong point.
