July 15, 2009 Dear Community Friends and Fellow Ping Pong Players … We hope you are having a blessed summer! This small letter and package is to invite you and a team from your community church or organization to a fun End of Summer Ping Pong Bash to be held Saturday September 5 at the Chinese Community Church. Last year several more churches and organizations came to take a peek at the expanded “Bash” and liked what they saw. This is a Bash and not a Tournament for the fact that there will be a variety of activities beyond some structured Tournament. There are no grand prizes but scheduled custom and draw play of various skill levels, singles, doubles, mixed doubles, mother/daughter games, father/son games, face-offs and special match ups (submit requests), famous BBQ and Praise. We believe that God is nudging us to continue with this community, multi-generational, simple, activity and event and He will guide and Bless us as we seek to Serve and Glorify Him in all we do. We are excited about hosting the Ping Pong Bash in 2009, and hope to hear from you soon regarding registration or any questions you may have. If you are interested in participating in this year’s Bash, feel free to first pray and then let us know who will be participating . I understand that there are risks associated with strenuous physical exertion and with these events, including but not limited to those caused by the terrain, the weather, the condition of the athlete, other participants, and lack of hydration. In consideration of the right to participate in the Chinese Community Church Summer Sports Ministries, I hereby assume all risks associated with event involved in and I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury or property damage or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me or to any other person as a result of my participation in these events and activities. This waiver and release shall be binding on my heirs and assigns and shall run in favor of the San Diego Chinese Community Church and all promoters, sponsors, officials, municipalities, and the City of San Diego or any other individuals or entities in any way connected with this event though their liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on their part. Ping Pong Bash Outline – Rules and Guidelines
This is a Fun Event intended for Fellowship of Multi-Generations and Community Groups and Organizations. There will be multiple ping pong tables for various skill levels (Beginning, Intermediate, Advance). Players will be scheduled to play on single and doubles teams based on submission of requested match-up (no guarantees) and random draw of registration entries (25 cents a match-up). Players will meet and greet, shake hands before and after play. Official Ping Pong rules apply only to Advance Pool Play if so agreed upon. Other Pools play two games to 15 points or until the 15minutes time is up. Scores are recorded by players on Score Sheet at Table.

Players will be scheduled to play on single and doubles teams based on submitted match-ups or as names are drawn from pools. Continuous for Safety and Glorious Play and Actions for God. A time of Praise is scheduled for after lunch. Contact Tom Tom quaidoi@yahoo.com if interested in playing/singing in Ping Pong Bash Praise Team 2009. There are no major prizes this year beyond the prize of meeting and fellowshipping together. See Souvenirs. To meet and play ping pong with one another for the fun and fellowship.

Purpose
Refreshments Drinks, fruit, snacks, and other goodies will be available for players, or bring your own. Rules Players will meet, greet and shake hands before and after play. Official International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Rules are encouraged for Advance Level if known, but will not be enforced. The following Ping Pong Bash rules will apply: 11 point Games, Corners are good, Play with fairness and grace, Occasional smiles, laughter, and fun mandatory. Referees reserve the right to monitor/manage games and skill levels. Beginning Able to paddle back and forth P- I – N - G Intermediate Able to paddle back and forth P – I – N – G – P – O – N - G Advance Consistently paddle back and forth P – I – N – G – P – O – N – G – B – A – S – H All paid participants will receive an official Ping Pong Bash 2009 Souvenir. This replaces any Large Trophy or Prize. Suggested team make-up: 2-3 players in each Skill Level and 1 Team captain.
