Perception Deception

Wonderworks
Learn about the properties of waves through music, colours, reflections, vibrations, ripples and rainbows. Play a harp with beams of light, take a photo of your shadow and be amazed by holograms.
Perception Deception is for anyone who owns a brain! Explore the world inside your head and discover that ‘reality’ isn’t what it seems. Change size before your eyes, feel a phantom limb or be unable to speak because of your voice.

Adventure into Measure Island and discover how you measure up! Use measurements to read your friends’ minds, find out why it’s important to be quoit accurate and do some speed-sorting as you learn about the myriad measurements used everyday.

Mini Q fun for 0–6 year olds
Young scientists are encouraged to see, hear, feel and do amazing things. Mini Q challenges babies and early learners to explore, splash, perform, build, climb, blast off or even role play in areas especially designed for little people.

Shell Questacon Science Circus
Ends April 2009 Try on a friend’s face, test your reaction time and create your own musical composition at Questacon’s travelling outreach exhibition, the Shell Questacon Science Circus. Proudly supported by Shell Companies in Australia and The Australian National University.
Explore the science and technology used in fun parks, from the phenomenon of fear to the probability involved in fortune telling. Discover the sensations of motion without moving a muscle in the rollercoaster simulator, experience Free Fall on the 6 metre vertical slide or try to catch a ball while spinning on Curve Ball!

Science Time
Discover Science Time, a fun and interactive learning experience for little scientists! Space, the human body and music are just some of the topics created to inspire and engage children aged 2-6 and their carers. Presented every school day at 10am see children learn about the world of science whilst having loads of fun!
