                            (Quality Enhancement Plan)


The Office of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs is seeking qualified
candidates for Lecturer appointments (non tenure-track) to teach English composition in
conjunction with Clark Atlanta University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
Successful candidates will be proficient in desktop and on-line computer applications
(e.g., email messaging, word processing, presentations, and Internet access) and
familiar with online course management systems (e.g., WebCT and BlackBoard
Portfolio) as well as experienced in teaching writing at the undergraduate level. An
interdisciplinary background is desirable, as the positions require collaborative work with
faculty in history, sociology, and speech communications. Teaching assignments will be
limited to three sections per semester of freshman composition using the process
approach to writing. Incumbents are expected to participate in faculty development
activities beginning in July 2009 and continuing throughout the academic year. At a
minimum, successful applicants must hold a Masters degree in English from a
regionally accredited institution of higher education. Salary and benefits will be
commensurate with academic credentials and experience. Clark Atlanta University is a
historically black institution (HBCU) with a reputation for quality undergraduate and
graduate education and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools (SACS).
