2.          Answer FOUR (4) questions only from all the two (2) parts.
            Answer THREE (3) questions from PART A and ONE (1) question from PART B.

3.          Answer for each part must be written in a separate answer booklet and annotated Part A
            and Part B .

4.       Answer to each question should start on a new page.

5.          Do not bring any material into the examination room unless permission is given by the
            invigilator.

QUESTION 1


a)    Building team is very important in construction industry. Explain the duties of
      building team as listed below :

      i.        Client
      ii.       Architect
      iii.      Builder / Contractor

b)    Explain the types of trade involved in the following works :

      i.        Construction of reinforced upper floor slab with marble finishes
      ii.       Construction of concrete brickwall with ceramic wall tiles up to 1500 mm
                height and the above areas plastered with cement and sand (1:3) and
                painted.

a)    The basic objective of site investigation is to collect systematically and record all the
      necessary data which will needed or will help in the design and construction process
      of the proposed work. Based on the above statement, describe the two (2)
      categories of site investigation works.

a)   With the aid of sketches, explain the difference between English Garden Wall Bond
     and Flemish Garden Wall Bond. Outline the characteristics of a good mortar used for
     bonding purposes.

     and disadvantages of blockwork in housing construction compared to brickwork.
